Fans found Dexter Morgan's house in GTA 6

Fans have been picking apart the 26-minute GTA 6 gameplay video frame by frame, and one discovery ties directly into a cult classic show. Players believe Rockstar recreated the apartment complex where Dexter Morgan lived in Vice City. The find comes from an aerial shot where the camera pans over a waterfront building.

Saukko505 posted a comparison on X between the in-game building and the real property used during filming of the series.

It seems like a modified version of Dexter Morgan's apartment will appear in GTA 6.

The similarities are hard to ignore. Both buildings share a T-shaped layout, a distinctive circular exterior staircase and walkways crossing the lawn. The placement right next to the water is nearly identical too.

The exterior of Dexter apartment was filmed at the Bay Harbor Club, located at 1155 103rd Street in Bay Harbor Islands, Miami. Since Vice City is a fictional version of Miami, fans don't think the resemblance is a coincidence. It's still unclear whether players will be able to go inside the building, but if they can, checking the air conditioner for a box of blood slides would make perfect sense.

The discovery spread quickly across social media, and comments soon filled up with memes featuring Sergeant James Doakes. Some fans are already planning ahead for the game online mode.

Someone is gonna buy an apartment there in online and make an entire YouTube series out of it role playing as Dexter.

Rockstar hasn't confirmed the building is an intentional reference. Still, GTA 6 trailers are already packed with nods to Florida landmarks, viral incidents and pop culture, and players recently dug up a Vice City easter egg that went unnoticed for over a year.

The timing is interesting, since the discovery surfaced right after the studio talked about needing to handle satire more carefully so jokes don't feel dated by release. The Extended Look also revealed major systems that will push players to think more like criminals, and small details like this building hint at just how many secrets the open world might be hiding.

GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series on November 19. The PC version will follow later.
