Crimson Moon puts you in the shoes of a human-angel hybrid battling hordes of monsters

Today's State of Play brought quite a pleasant surprise with the announcement of Crimson Moon – an action title from Probably Monsters that impressed with its debut trailer.

The game puts you in the shoes of a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid whose existence is viewed as a threat by some and as a sign of salvation by others. Guided along by a suitably ominous-sounding narrator, the trailer showcases the protagonist taking on hordes of terrifying monsters, tearing through their ranks with brutal efficiency before facing down gigantic creatures capable of giving a proper fight.

Although details about the story, mechanics, and world are scarce at this time, Crimson Moon's visuals are quite the sight to behold. Its combat system appears to take a leaf out of the more methodical Soulslikes out there – your sword and shield being the primary tools for offense and defense against the horrors you face.

While there isn't a concrete release date for Crimson Moon as of now, it's slated for a 2026 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.

The game is already available for wishlisting on Steam.
