The Sims 4's most notorious sex mod gets launched 400,000 times a day

Turbodriver, creator of Wicked Whims – one of The Sims 4's largest sex mods – revealed impressive usage statistics for the project. According to the developer, the mod gets launched around 400,000 times daily, based on server pings from players starting sessions with the modification installed.

In an interview with German publication Taz, Turbodriver clarified that this figure represents launches, not unique users, since individual players may start the game multiple times per day. In a December Patreon post, the creator noted that Wicked Whims' audience has grown every year alongside The Sims 4's main playerbase. For comparison, such numbers would place the mod in Steam's top 10 games by concurrent players, if the metrics were comparable. And that's just the mod – imagine what The Sims 4's daily player count looks like.

Wicked Whims is primarily known for adult content, including fully animated intimate scenes. However, fans more often praise the mod for its realistic fertility and menstruation system, as well as an advanced attraction mechanic that many consider superior to the official Lovestruck expansion.

The developer, who maintains anonymity, also works on a less provocative version called Wonderful Whims. In the interview, he briefly touched on modding monetization and adult content access, adding that he doesn't see himself as an educator. Among future plans, Turbodriver mentioned a new camgirl profession for characters, though current focus remains on bug fixes and code library improvements.
