World of Warcraft fan builds a house overlooking nighttime Stormwind, and fans are asking for the layout code
French World of Warcraft fan Yuna (YUNA) showed off a room in her in-game home with a view of Stormwind. Outside the window, a canal with a stone bridge, street lamps, lion statues, and a lit-up cathedral sit against a starry sky. She built all of it by hand using the housing system tools.
Yuna described the result modestly.
I made a "little" view of Stormwind from my window in my WoW housing...
The first screenshot shows the scene from inside the room, through a lattice window with burgundy curtains. A workbench, a water pump, a lantern, and a small table with alchemy flasks stand nearby. The second shot shows the "street" outside the window: a canal with a boat and water lilies, wooden houses with blue roofs, and castle towers that recall the original city.
Soon after the post went up, dozens of comments appeared asking her to share the layout code.
The official French account Warcraft FR praised the work and recalled the well-known joke about the monster in the Stormwind sewers. Asked whether a crocodile lives in the canal, Yuna replied that she would have to double her budget for that. Other players mostly wanted to know how she pulled off the stonework and the lion statues, since the game has no ready-made item with lions like that.
Many reactions praised the lighting and overall atmosphere. Several commenters said the view looks better than the real Stormwind. One player wrote that the shot looks like a cutscene from a new Warcraft III campaign. Another added that for the first time in a long while, they wanted to return to the current version of the game for five seconds.
The housing system arrived in World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. It lets players decorate their own homes and combine decorative items. The community quickly began using these tools not just for interiors but for entire dioramas that recreate familiar Azeroth locations.
