Baldur's Gate 3 mod adds a 6-hour campaign about Astarion with 4 endings and a cat you can pet

Baldur's Gate 3 is finally getting the kind of custom campaigns fans have wanted since Divinity: Original Sin 2. A Dream of Silence: ReVamped launched on Nexus Mods and delivers roughly six hours of new story content for Larian Studios' RPG.

The mod is based on a browser text adventure by Abigail Corfman, still playable on her official site. It puts Astarion, one of the most beloved companions from the base game, front and center.

The story revolves around rescuing Astarion from a nightmarish version of Cazador's mansion. Players can also skip the rescue entirely and follow a different path instead.

The mod creators highlighted several key features of the campaign:

• four different endings

• six new companions with unique dialogue lines and rewards

• more dynamic combat and boss fights

• a kitty that potentially accepts scritches

A Dream of Silence: ReVamped is currently PC only, with no console versions available. That's because expanded mod support only exists on the PC edition of the game.

Campaigns like this became possible after Patch 7 rolled out full mod support. That update also gave modders access to level editing, save editing, and other tools Larian never intended to officially support.

Early last year, modders predicted that 2025 would bring campaigns with levels and lands comparable in scale to the Skyrim modding community. In practice, progress has been slower than expected.

Among other major projects, Return to Candlekeep stands out, though its development has dragged on. Technical limitations, including multiplayer restrictions, add extra hurdles.

A Dream of Silence: ReVamped proves that full custom campaigns are technically achievable right now, and that could push other teams toward even more ambitious projects.
