GTA 6 gameplay leak revealed gameplay from two years ago

A couple days ago, gameplay clips claimed to be from internal Rockstar builds GTA 6 started spreading across social media.

The footage shows characters walking along a beach, driving cars, getting into fights, and blowing up vehicles, with the environment resembling the Leonida setting seen in official trailers.

The authenticity of the clips was confirmed by those believed to be behind past leaks of the game. Screenshotted chat logs claim all the footage shown dates back to 2023. Rumors suggest more gameplay could surface online, though the details on that still vary.

If the dating checks out, the final release won't look exactly like this. Two-year-old builds don't reflect the current state of graphics, animations, or physics, and early work-in-progress versions usually come packed with unfinished assets and debug elements.

The third leak dates to at least 2025, since a song released early last year plays over it.

This leak lands right before the official presentation. The GTA 6 Extended Look hits Netflix on August 27, where Rockstar will show up-to-date footage put together specifically for the public, rather than a scattered mix of random clips.

The wait for the sixth mainline Grand Theft Auto game has dragged on, but only a few days remain before the reveal. For comparison, The Elder Scrolls 6 fans still have nothing beyond a 2018 teaser.
