Unity reported its best quarter in history thanks to the success of the Vector AI platform
Unity called its latest financial results the best in its history as a public company. CEO Matt Bromberg credited the growth in overall revenue and Grow Solutions revenue to the ongoing success of the Unity Vector AI platform.
The product roadmap following the announcement of Unity 7, set to launch in the first quarter of 2027, gave the company an additional boost.
Key numbers
Revenue: $546 million, up 24% year-on-year
Create Solutions revenue: $158 million, up 2% year-on-year
Grow Solutions revenue: $389 million, up 35% year-on-year
Net loss: $23 million (with a margin of 4%)
Unity reported growth across all segments in the second quarter, including a 38% increase in its strategic revenue segment to $486 million. Net loss came in at $23 million with a 4% margin, compared to $107 million and a 24% margin in the same period last year.
Unity attributed the 2% growth in Create Solutions revenue to higher subscription revenue. That gain was partially offset by declines in cloud and hosting services following the company's earlier portfolio reset.
Grow Solutions delivered the strongest performance, with revenue climbing 35% to $389 million compared to the same period a year earlier. The Unity Ads Network, backed by the Vector AI advertising and user acquisition platform, drove that growth, though it was partially offset by declines in IronSource, which Unity shut down earlier this year.
In May, Unity launched a suite of AI tools for Unity 6 and later versions. The core feature, Agentic Assistant, operates within game projects and helps developers better understand and use the engine tools.
These tools will be compatible with Unity 7, which enters beta testing in December and is set for full release in the first quarter of 2027. Unity describes the engine as a "direct continuation" of Unity 6, with new features shipping and getting product-verified within the current version.
