God of War Trilogy Remake announced with original Kratos returning

Sony Santa Monica revealed at the State of Play presentation God of War Trilogy Remake – a full remake of the three original Greek saga games for PS5. After years of rumors, the franchise is officially returning to its roots.

TC Carson, who voiced Kratos in the original trilogy, will return to the role of the Spartan warrior. The remake will cover the events of the first three games in the series, released on PS2 and PS3 in 2005, 2007, and 2010 respectively.

The developers noted that the game is in early stages of development, so additional details and a release date will have to wait.

This marks the first major return to the series' Greek mythology after the 2018 reboot, which moved Kratos into the worlds of Norse gods.
