Diablo 4 players spent weeks searching for the last piece of the "cow" armor – it turned out Blizzard only added it in the recent patch

Blizzard released patch 3.2.3 for Diablo 4 and quietly added a cow that players had been hunting for weeks. Without it, the last piece of the Bovine armor set was impossible to get. The patch notes made no mention of the change.

Season 15 of Diablo 4 leans heavily on nostalgia for the series history. It includes a whole quest chain that recreates the critical path of the original Diablo, along with an armor set themed around the Diablo 2 cow level. That secret area has long been one of the most famous mysteries in the franchise.

Players quickly figured out how to get nearly every piece of the Bovine set. Only the gloves, the Foreshanks of the Bovine, stayed out of reach. The community searched all over the season for weeks with no luck.

The reason turned out to be simple. To get the gloves, you have to pet a cow, and that cow didn't exist in the game until patch 3.2.3 went live.

According to Icy Veins, and confirmed by independent testing, the new cow spawns in Old Tristram behind the Cathedral. Pet it and it drops the Foreshanks of the Bovine. No extra conditions apply.

Armor collectors can finally complete the full set.

The look of the set draws mixed reactions. Depending on how you transmog your Diablo 4 character, it can come across as either repulsive or very cool. The armor goes for full camp and makes the hero look like an actual cow grazing the fields of Old Tristram.
