Furniture in the ARC Raiders outpost unlocks hundreds of additional storage slots

Crafting outpost furniture in ARC Raiders unlocks hundreds of extra slots for items and weapons. Many players write this part of the system off as cosmetic, but it adds a lot of storage space.

The outpost system arrived in ARC Raiders with the Frozen Trail update. Most players focused on upgrading the outpost itself and building rooms. Another major goal was getting an Emperor Modulator and a Frigate Inductor, which are needed to level up the Gunsmith and Research Bench. Those upgrades open amplified weapon mods like explosive bullets and incendiary shells.

Unlocking furniture is fairly easy. All it takes is finishing the Sheltered Retreat project, which has these steps:

• Reach level 18 to start the project.

• Take a picture of the Ruined Homestead.

• Donate materials, including planks and sheet metal.

• Damage a flying ARC and a Bully for the final step.

Once that is done, you can complete the project and move in. The boxes under blankets are worth recycling, since they drop the planks needed to craft your first furniture. After that, select an empty furniture slot in the main outpost, or build a new room and put the furniture there.

Each crafted piece lists its number of slots in the menu. Using furniture works like this:

• Right-click a piece of furniture and choose "Decorate" to place items on it.

• Wall-mounted shelves and gun racks are available, along with standing furniture.

• As with the stash, full item stacks can be placed on furniture.

• To return everything to the stash, right-click the furniture and choose "clear all attached items".

Blueprints for new furniture can be found out in the world, usually in residential areas. Pendola Pass Old Town is especially packed with them. Fill all three outpost rooms with furniture, and the extra storage adds up to a huge amount.
