Avengers: Doomsday poster shows the first incursion in Marvel history and 11 heroes

The new international poster for Avengers: Doomsday dropped overnight, with the Marvel epic about two months from release. The poster gathers every character confirmed to appear in the film, along with one of the story's major threats – incursion.

The international poster features the following heroes:

  • Shuri in the Black Panther suit, minus the helmet

  • Gambit

  • Loki, shown in full for the first time after all the rumors

  • Steve Rogers with Mjölnir. The wedding ring that sparked so much discussion is right there on his finger

  • Bucky Barnes

  • Charles Xavier, alongside the wreckage of his school

  • Thor with Stormbreaker, wrapped in a golden glow – the color of the Odinforce

  • Yelena Belova with a loaded weapon

  • Captain America

  • Reed Richards

  • Cyclops

The heroes stand amid the rubble while Sentinels prepare to blast them with lasers. Looming over the destruction is a masked Victor von Doom, who is rumored to be called "Lord Doom" in the film.

The poster's subtlest detail sits right behind Bucky. Deep in space, two planets collide. It's the first time audiences have seen what an incursion might look like in the MCU.

Some viewers think Earth is crashing into another planet, but that shouldn't be the case.

For anyone unfamiliar with the term, John Krasinski's Reed Richards explained it in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:

"An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes, and they collide, destroying one or both entirely."

Marvel wants to win back fans by streamlining its continuity into a single universe again, taking inspiration from DC 1980s comic Crisis on Infinite Earths. This December Doomsday and next year Avengers: Secret Wars are meant to wipe the slate clean on the tangled MCU timeline. That would pave the way for the next saga, which is rumored to be called the Mutant Saga.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters worldwide on December 18, 2026.
