Girl has been beating the most annoying boss in Armored Core 6 for 700 days straight, waiting for the next installment to be announced
A YouTuber known as Lilie has spent more than 700 days in a row clearing the same boss in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon every single day, filming playthrough videos until Fromsoftware officially announces the seventh entry in the series.
The channel format hasn't changed in years: she picks the fight against the boss Balteus as her target and replays the exact same battle over and over. Each new video comes with a unique text description, though, one that gradually builds into a full story about a fictional mech pilot.
The videos go up under titles like "balteus every day until AC7 is announced," with the day count in the title showing how long the challenge has been running.
By the time the latest videos went live, the counter had passed 720 days, and the audience follows not just the gameplay but also the story unfolding in the descriptions. What started as a routine repeat of the same in-game moment turned into its own project, complete with characters, intrigue and an ongoing narrative.
The story centers on a character named C3-512, a pilot whose fate plays out against the backdrop of the Armored Core universe. According to the description for day 718, after losing to Arquebus mercenaries, the character gets sent to a reeducation camp before being transferred to a medical experimentation division.
There, she's picked for a study on old-generation augmentations - ironically, the Rubiconian tech her crew had tried to steal turned out to be equipment for third-generation coral augmentations, and she ends up as the recipient.
The study gives Arquebus useful data on how old augmentations function, but the corporation's interest quickly shifts toward more promising new-generation tech
With no further use for her, C3-512 gets handed off to a partnered handler, working for him for years until the conditioning from her reeducation starts cracking. She eventually turns on her handler, steals his credits, buys a one-way ticket to the Rubicon system, and risks her life running the PCA blockade to get there.
For now, the show goes on, and it could be a long wait before the next Armored Core gets announced. 11 years passed between the fifth and sixth entries.
