GTA 6 fans measured oxygen levels near Rockstar's office – and the studio confirmed it

Italian YouTuber Mike ShowSha visited Rockstar offices ahead of the GTA 6 showcase on Netflix and shared a strange detail from the trip. According to him, studio employees confirmed that particularly dedicated fans really did measure oxygen levels around the developer campus.

The story started back in June, when a fan went viral for an unusual method of tracking Rockstar North. The logic went like this – higher oxygen consumption means more people are inside the building, which would mean the team is working overtime and prepping a big announcement.

That same fan set up acoustic equipment near the campus and basically lived next to the office, tracking employees driving in and out. All of this in an attempt to figure out where the game development stood.

In one of his updates, the fan reported that oxygen levels dropped to around 20.3% and 20.04% after 5 PM, which he believed pointed to more people being in the building after normal working hours. From there, he concluded that Trailer 3 was coming soon.

Mike ShowSha turned out to be one of the creators invited to Rockstar offices to see the game in person before the extended Netflix showcase went live. That's where he heard confirmation of the oxygen story.

Guys, Ive been told some weird things. Like, there are people who measure oxygen levels I dont know how they do it, but they told me this at Rockstar, so Id tend to believe them, because if theres a sign that suggests there are more people inside the studios, it means development has increased, and therefore its about to happen. It's crazy.

Reactions split between amusement and mild horror. One person on X joked that this explains why the trailer opens with "Yoo, Crackheads!", while another wrote, "Bruh, who thinks like this? I mean, it's pretty smart, but think about what people would do if they really want something."

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19, 2026, finally putting the "We got XYZ before GTA 6" memes to rest. The extended Netflix showcase already revealed plenty of details, including the relationship mechanic between Jason and Lucia that players aren't required to actively engage with.

At the same time, the hype surrounding the game is fueling some unexpected arguments too. Some spouses on social media have claimed that playing through the romantic storyline between Jason and Lucia counts as cheating in real life.
