GTA 6 leak revealed basketball, interface, and two in-game money balances

A minute-long gameplay clip of GTA 6 surfaced online a week before Rockstar official reveal. A group calling itself Cyberleek is spreading the footage, and its origin remains unclear. Some visual elements suggest the recording comes from a fairly early build of the game.

The clip shows Jason, one of the two protagonists, at home. He spends time by the water, in no rush to go anywhere, just taking in the surroundings. Eventually he picks up a basketball and starts shooting hoops.

The shooting mechanics look far more detailed than you'd expect from a minor side activity. Jason can dribble on the move and shoot from different angles. Landing a shot grants a resource called "Focus," and the moment of the basket going in comes with a sound effect reminiscent of collecting a coin in a platformer.

At the end of the clip, the ball rolls into the water, and the liquid reacts to it with proper physics. Small details like this from an unfinished build hint at how much attention Rockstar pays to secondary interactions.

The leak also gives a glimpse of the game interface. Visible on screen are:

  • a contextual stamina indicator that appears situationally

  • two separate in-game money counters

  • what looks like Jason personal wallet

  • a separate account tied to the character home

The second counter seems similar to the camp fund from Red Dead Redemption 2, where money was kept separate from the protagonist personal cash. The footage lacks correct button icons, so it's impossible to determine the platform or build version from the recording.

Another leaked clip shows some clunky driving and a fistfight:

Cyberleek urges people to visit its website for more material, though no additional recordings have turned up there. Visiting the site isn't recommended.

The official reveal, which promises to be much more extensive, is set for August 27. Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will air on Netflix.

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series.
