Canadian built a cozy home theater in the style of The Lord of the Rings

The dream of any Middle-earth fan doesn't stop at rewatching the Peter Jackson trilogy for the tenth time. Some go further and turn a regular room with a projector into a portal to Tolkien's universe.

That's exactly what jajardel from Canada pulled off, building a private home theater entirely inspired by The Lord of the Rings. The room is packed with themed decorations, carefully thought-out lighting, small details, and even interactive elements that bring the space to life.

Projects like this have grown into their own subculture. Lord of the Rings fans recreate hobbit holes from the Shire at home, complete with round doors and wooden beams, or the grim halls of Moria, or the cozy atmosphere of the Prancing Pony.

The key to pulling this off convincingly isn't budget – it's attention to detail, from accurate fonts on the maps to authentic light fixtures and sound pulled straight from Howard Shore's score.

Inside – hidden lighting that reacts to scenes from the films, a replica of the One Ring with elvish script that appears when heated, tactile maps of Middle-earth on the walls, and of course, the You Shall Not Pass meme.

For sound I use an Onkyo Atmos 7.1 system, and for picture – a Sony VPL-HW45ES. Since my room is pitch black, the result is just perfect; I couldn't be happier with it.

The enthusiast worked on the build from October to April, one day a week.
