Animated short film based on SCP universe features twins caught in catastrophic containment breach
Independent studio Soem unveiled a trailer for the animated short film SCP: Gallionic. The project tells the story of the Vestergaard twins working at a secret SCP Foundation facility, but on opposite sides of the operation.
Matthew handles accounting on the facility's outskirts, while his older sister Jane investigates anomalies directly inside the complex. Jane is frustrated with the institution's status quo – containment breaches have become routine, and staff casualties are viewed as just part of the job. She fears this widespread apathy will lead to a catastrophic breach and scrambles to find a solution.
When her fears materialize and a massive containment breach occurs, Matthew ventures into the facility's depths searching for his sister. The protagonist has no idea what happened inside or what objects are contained there – he's driven solely by the desire to save Jane.
The creators focus on themes of control over one's environment and decisions. Though the story draws from SCP wiki lore, prior familiarity isn't required – the team aims to make the short accessible to newcomers and hopes to spark interest in the SCP universe.
The SCP game series is an indie horror universe created based on sci-fi stories from the SCP Foundation project.
The crowdfunding campaign ends in one month.
