GamesBeat: GTA 6 to release on PC in early 2027
Rockstar Games plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 in the first three months of 2027, according to GamesBeat, which cites four industry sources familiar with the studio plans.
All of them requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships. A Rockstar representative did not respond to a request for comment before publication.
The console release of GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is set for November 19, 2026. The game remains one of the most anticipated launches in industry history, yet the PC release date still hasn't been announced. A Q1 window would mean a gap of just a few months between the console and PC versions.
That's a much faster pace for the series. The fifth game launched on consoles in September 2013 and only reached PC in April 2015 – about a year and seven months later.
The GTA 5 audience consists mostly of console players, with PC users making up a small minority. With a rumored budget north of $2 billion, Rockstar has every reason to widen the pool of buyers as quickly as possible. PC could grow the game audience considerably, GamesBeat says.
Rockstar hasn't officially announced a PC version of GTA 6 yet.
