A mod that hides 946 members of Asmongold's guilds has been released for WoW Forever – it has already been downloaded more than 4250 times
A player of World of Warcraft: Forever released a mod that completely removes members of streamer Asmongold's guilds from view. The blogger has already responded to the addon appearance.
The mod showed up just days after part of the community demanded a ban on Asmongold over his sprawling network of Olympus guilds. According to players, the streamer's fans turned entire cities into their own bases, choking everything with lag while filling chat with spam and slurs.
Normally, players could just switch to another server to dodge this kind of problem. But WoW Forever groups players by ruleset rather than by separate game worlds, so that option no longer exists. One player decided to build a personal "emergency exit" instead.
The addon OlympusMute was published by a user going by Solastro on CurseForge on September 23. The mod automatically hides messages from any character belonging to a guild with "Olympus" in its name. The filter works across all major communication channels:
regular speech (Say) and Yell
whispers
Trade chat
raid warnings
chat bubbles in the open world
OlympusMute also automatically declines guild invites that Olympus members spam at unsuspecting players. The mod handles group invites, duel challenges, and trade requests the same way.
Once the addon identifies a guild member through targeting, nameplate, or a /who scan, it scrubs that player's earlier messages from chat windows too, cleaning up the conversation history retroactively.
Since OlympusMute runs entirely client-side, it bypasses the standard ignore list's 50-name cap. Muted players receive no notification whatsoever. The mod's own preview screenshot shows the filter already hiding 946 players, with guild numbers climbing as high as Olympus XLI.
The addon picked up steam after WoW partner Morrigan shared it on X with the caption "i'm just gonna leave this here..". The post racked up over 300,000 views in a single day. Morrigan later tagged Blizzard directly in a follow-up, writing "it's time to do something."
Asmongold responded to the situation with a tongue-in-cheek post:
This is either a hate crime or racism, I'm not sure which one yet. Discrimination is a terrible thing and it's awful that Blizzard would allow something so disgusting.
The mod creator himself chimed in under the post:
Hey that's my addon! Thanks for spreading the word <3
