GTA 6 on PC may be released earlier due to hardware shortage
The PC version of GTA V from Rockstar Games arrived more than a year and a half after the console release. Rumor has it GTA VI might not make PC players wait nearly as long.
Despite Rockstar staying quiet, Video Games Chronicle editor-in-chief Andy Robinson believes the British studio has every reason to speed up the PC port of GTA 6.
According to Robinson, the hardware crisis currently gripping the industry – driven by AI companies buying up manufacturing capacity and starving the gaming market of chips – will push Rockstar to avoid delaying the PC release.
This shortage has even driven up prices for six-year-old consoles, making the situation around platform releases more sensitive than before.
[Behind the scenes] there are rumors that maybe the PC version will arrive sooner than you'd expect, because of everything going on right now.
A former Rockstar producer previously explained why GTA 6 won't launch on PC on day one.
