The Blood of Dawnwalker developers reminded that you can try to defeat the final boss right after the prologue

Rebel Wolves has made a lot about The Blood of Dawnwalker open-ended campaign and completely non-linear narrative path in its vampiric open-world RPG.

The developers previously said "everything is optional" when describing the game. In a new video overview of the upcoming title, they break down that design philosophy in detail.

Rebel Wolves confirmed that players can head straight for the final boss the moment they leave the tutorial section. Anyone capable of pulling that off has already been handed "legend" status in advance.

You have one clear goal, but there's no single linear way to complete it. Every activity and quest is optional and serves as a building block of your own crafted experience.

The valley is a big place open for exploration. You can look for opportunities to learn new things and find allies, or you can even decide to storm Brencis's castle as soon as you're out of the prologue. However, remember that defeating him as a freshly made Dawnwalker will be a feat worthy of legends.

Brencis serves as the main antagonist of the game. The developers hint that rushing his fortress early is technically possible, but brutally difficult for an unleveled character.

The approach echoes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where players could head straight for Ganon's castle right after getting the paraglider, risking death against the very first boss.

The Blood of Dawnwalker launches September 3 on PC and consoles.
