Cat Parents hits 100,000 Steam wishlists in three days, leaving its indie devs speechless
Indie game Cat Parents from studio Gaze In Games turned out to be a genuine surprise – not just for players, but for the developers themselves. Within three days of its Steam announcement, over 100,000 people added the title to their wishlist, a milestone the small team never saw coming.
Cat Parents has players picking up stray cats and caring for them – washing them, feeding them, and rearranging their home to keep a growing clowder comfortable. It's a simple, cozy concept that clearly struck a chord.
Studio CEO Solvita Zacha shared a post:
"Three days ago, we finally announced Cat Parents, a game we've been dreaming up and pouring our passion into. A game we'd love to play ourselves, and we never imagined that our little dream would spark interest in so many people."
According to SteamDB, Cat Parents currently sits on the wishlist charts right between Nocturne and Forgery Craft. It may not be generating the same buzz as Subnautica 2 or Blight: Survival, but crossing 100,000 wishlists in just a few days is no small feat for a tiny indie studio.
"100,000 wishlists in just three days is… absolutely incredible," Zacha added. "Those millions of views, and 100,000 wishlists and all expectations are a huge responsibility and a huge trust."
A release date for Cat Parents hasn't been announced yet, but the game's page is already live on Steam.
