Leon destroyed at least $220 million worth of Umbrella property, according to a product catalog found in Requiem
Everyone knows that Umbrella Corporation, under its pharmaceutical cover, sells bioweapons to militaries around the world to fund a program aimed at creating a new race of humans with a particular love of sunglasses. Typical Resident Evil stuff. But Resident Evil Requiem is the first to answer a question almost nobody thought to ask – how much does any of this actually cost?
Spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem
Near the end of the game, in the ARK laboratory beneath the ruins of Raccoon City, players can find a series of monitors displaying an Umbrella product catalog dated 2026. It lists current prices for some of the series' most iconic monsters:
Tyrant (Mr X) – $120,000,000
Plant 43 – $100,000,000
Licker – $14,000,000
Cerberus – $30,000,000
Nemesis does appear in the catalog as well, though his price is listed as "negotiable" – Spencer apparently isn't sure how to value a relentless stalker who doesn't understand the word "no." Which means what Jill Valentine cost Umbrella when she finished him off remains an open question.
As for Leon – after burning Plant 43 and turning Mr X into paste, he set Umbrella back at least $220 million, and that's before counting every licker and Cerberus he dispatched along the way, or the Tyrant's iconic trenchcoat it wore strolling into the Raccoon City Police Department.
The catalog entry for Mr X reads:
"A humanoid bioweapon with exceptional combat capabilities. It can execute simple commands, such as tracking and eliminating targets, and comes with a coat as standard, for effective human disguise."
It's a small but well-crafted in-game file that adds a corporate mundanity to the world of Resident Evil – evil, but make it accounting. The real fun will come when fans eventually sit down and tally up the full damage Leon, Claire, Carlos, and Jill did across Raccoon City. The number is going to be something.
