Rockstar disappointed by GTA 6 leaks, but development continues

Rockstar Games is dealing with a tense atmosphere internally following another leak of GTA 6 materials. According to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, studio employees describe their mood as "frustration and exhaustion" as the investigation into the incident continues.

One of the studio executives sent staff a letter condemning the leaker actions and assuring the team that the incident wouldn't overshadow their work on the game.

Inside the company, things resemble a full lockdown mode – management has thrown resources at figuring out how the leak happened, but hasn't yet identified who's responsible or how the materials got out of the studio.

Development hasn't slowed down for a single day, though. The team keeps polishing the final details of the game as it approaches its November 19 release.

On top of that, Rockstar has confirmed a separate leak of an Xbox Graphics Capture file from an Xbox devkit. The likely cause was a phishing attack targeting one of the company employees.

The file itself isn't a game build, but it holds a significant amount of GTA 6 material, including 3D models, textures, and map-related data.

The file hasn't been publicly shared in full yet, but the data already pulled from it could still reveal new details about how the GTA 6 game world is built.
