Five new heroes revealed in Overwatch Season 1 Conquest trailer – Jetpack Cat voiced by Mass Effect's Commander Shepard
Blizzard released the Season 1: Conquest trailer for Overwatch's soft reboot, showcasing five new heroes at once. Jetpack Cat and Mizuki join the support role, Emre and Anran strengthen the damage class, while Domina takes the tank position.
Jetpack Cat received special attention – Jennifer Hale, known for voicing Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect trilogy, will perform the character's meows. Game audio director Scott Lawson noted the actress "did an incredible job" with the purring performance. The hero's abilities include permanent flight, the ability to tow and heal allies in the air, while the ultimate ability allows diving into enemies to stun them and tether the nearest opponent for an environmental kill.
Anran is a high-mobility fighter dealing fire damage with a self-resurrect ultimate ability. Mizuki heals allies by throwing a hat at them, while Emre is a fast-paced soldier with cybernetic modifications. Domina specializes in zone control and long-range precision attacks. The latter three characters are tied to the Talon organization, while Anran and Jetpack Cat belong to the Overwatch faction.
The season launches a year-long narrative arc called The Reign of Talon – the first fully connected storyline in Overwatch history. Blizzard also dropped the "2" from the game's name, emphasizing a new development phase. The update brings a redesigned interface, new passive abilities for role subclasses, a five-week Conquest event, and a Hello Kitty collaboration.
Additionally, developers announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version launching in April alongside Season 2. Plans for the year include new maps, including a Japan Night location, mythic skins, and the return of post-match accolades.
The update launches February 10 on PC via Steam and Battle.Net, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
