3D artist recreated a Skyrim village in Unreal Engine 5.7 with 16 times more detail than the original
3D artist Leo Torres released a new video showcasing Rorikstead from Skyrim in Unreal Engine 5.7 using Lumen and Nanite. The footage shows what Bethesda's iconic RPG could look like running on a modern engine.
The project is part of a larger effort to create a more realistic and lore-accurate version of Tamriel. The quiet farming village of Rorikstead now features 16 times more detail than the original game.
The artist used Nanite for all models and vegetation, while Lumen handles lighting and reflections. Unfortunately, this fan-made Skyrim map isn't available for download – the videos are created exclusively for the artist's portfolio.
For those wanting to experience Skyrim in Unreal Engine 5, there is an alternative. Greg Coulthard created a project that ports the entire game map into UE5.6. However, unlike Torres' work, this project doesn't utilize all the advanced engine features, and most assets remain identical to the original game. You can download it from the Discord channel.
