New trailer for Game of Thrones: War for Westeros reveals Arya Stark and The Mountain
PlaySide Studios released a hero reveal trailer for the PC strategy game Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, this time putting Arya Stark in the spotlight. The clip shows off the deadly assassin skills she brings to the battlefield.
Alongside Arya, the developers also introduced another playable character – Ser Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane.
Arya's character profile describes her as "a master assassin for House Stark, trained under the Faceless Men of the House of Black and White." Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark's younger daughter relies on elite martial training, stealth, and agility in the game. The gameplay footage reveals that she can also use face-changing magic on the battlefield, killing an enemy and instantly assuming their physical appearance.
In the trailer, Arya transforms into Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane, the commander on the opposing side. Clegane himself is playable under House Lannister and leans on his massive size and brute strength to smash through enemy battle lines and strike fear into opposing troops.
Beyond Arya and Gregor Clegane, the roster of playable heroes includes Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Ghost, Grey Wind, Jaime Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and The Night King. Each character comes with unique abilities players can use in battle.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is set to launch on PC via Steam in early 2027. Those interested can already add it to their Steam wishlist.
