Town to City, the beloved city builder with a 97% rating on Steam, is getting a big terraforming update in March 2026
The developers of Town to City have released a trailer for the upcoming Terraforming Update, set to arrive in March 2026. According to the team, the update was shaped largely by community input – player suggestions and feedback during early access have had a real influence on the game's direction.
The headline addition is a full terraforming system, letting players reshape the terrain of their settlements. The update also brings a new water tool, new playground items, and an undo button for paths and brushes, with the team hinting at more changes still to be revealed.
Town to City is a grid-free voxel city builder currently in early access. Players can place homes, shops, infrastructure, and natural elements however they like, manage the needs of their residents, and grow their economy. As settlements expand, it becomes possible to build multiple towns and connect them through trade and tourism routes across an entire region.
Town to City includes both a full story campaign and a sandbox mode, with pixel-precise placement for those who want total control. A major campaign expansion is also planned for Q2 this year.
The game has an outstanding reception on Steam – 97% positive reviews – and is currently available on PC only.
