Cozy horror cooking game for strange creatures hits 99% positive Steam reviews a week after launch

Developer The Rat Zone released Creature Kitchen – a cooking simulator where players feed forest creatures in a cozy horror atmosphere. The game earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, reaching 99% positive based on 707 reviews.

Creature Kitchen offers relaxed gameplay with mystical elements. Players prepare food for various creatures – from ordinary crows, toads, and raccoons to bizarre cryptids like a mouthless egg with legs. The action takes place in a mysterious woodland home where a cosmic void resides in the oven, glyph puzzles hide in cabinets, and an unfathomable engine sits installed in the bathtub.

The game combines a David Lynch-style atmosphere with simple cooking mechanics. Meal recipes are hidden beneath sigils, trees whisper in the darkness, and lights flicker in the woods. Despite the eerie setting, gameplay remains calm and focused on the cooking process.

According to player reviews, completion takes about two hours. Users praise the retro art style and unusual atmosphere, which justify the $8 price tag. Creature Kitchen has been available on Steam since February 6.
