Pearl Abyss asks fans to wait at least two more years for DokeV release
Pearl Abyss confirmed that the long-awaited DokeV won't be releasing anytime soon, despite the imminent launch of Crimson Desert next month.
If you've heard of Pearl Abyss, you're either a dedicated Black Desert Online fan or eagerly awaiting Crimson Desert. But true fans also know the company as the developer behind DokeV – a promising open-world game that was announced quite some time ago.
DokeV was first revealed in 2019 under the codename Project V. The game received several trailers that impressed everyone with its Pokemon-esque atmosphere and memorable Rockstar theme song. It's been a long time since the last DokeV showcase, and some started fearing the project was cancelled, but that's not the case.
As reported by Twitter user GermanStrands and Redditor World_of_Warshipgirl on the DokeV subreddit, Pearl Abyss recently held an earnings call with investors, where the company finally provided an update on development progress. During the investor Q&A section, Pearl Abyss was asked about its roadmap after Crimson Desert's launch.
In response, Pearl Abyss stated it plans to consecutively showcase DokeV and Plan8, while also releasing expansions and multiplayer content for Crimson Desert. The Blackspace engine optimization for Crimson Desert should help DokeV's development in the long run, as the company predicts a "great reduction" in development time.
