Fatekeeper developers reveal Haven – an atmospheric hub for rest between journeys
Paraglacial Studio presented a detailed look at Haven – the central location in the first-person RPG Fatekeeper, which has served as home to Sentinels of Solace for eons. The developers described the hub as a place to return to after long journeys through war-torn lands, ruins, and battlefields – a space where wood, stone, and living nature create a sense of warmth and familiar comfort.
Haven is presented as a meticulously crafted living space with rhythms of daily life. Craftwork flourishes here – metal is forged, herbs dry, mixtures simmer, and quiet occupations fill the air with purpose. Every corner of the location is designed to feel lived-in, layered with detail, and grounded in the rhythms of daily survival. The developers noted in their blog that this is not a refuge from the world, but a gentle counterweight to it – a place that welcomes players upon their return.
The hub is inhabited by other characters who pass through this place. Among them are a small figure with sharp eyes, a trader whose journey isn't quite finished, and a large, watchful companion who understands more than it lets on. The studio points out that these characters' stories unfold gradually, and some truths take time to surface. Haven is designed as a place for rest and respite, a point of return after difficult choices and a moment of stillness before the next journey.
Fatekeeper has been in development on Unreal Engine 5 since 2021, with the team focusing on a deep progression system with a skill tree supporting radically different playstyles – from massive hammer-wielders to cunning alchemists and fierce pyromancers.
Fatekeeper launches in Steam Early Access in 2026, followed by console releases.
