No Man's Sky player builds fully functional spaceship racing track

A No Man's Sky player known as Pleasant-Disaster837 has created a functional racing track for spaceships using the game's building mechanics and technical workarounds. The track has been hosting participants for several days now, who compete in three-lap races and practice navigating challenging sections.

To build this track, the creator used a building camera glitch that expands base limits and several PlayStation accounts to place multiple bases on a single planet. The track gates are constructed from elements that render quickly even at distance. Pleasant-Disaster837 is also working on a second track with improved checkpoint design.

Given that NMS has no built-in racing system, this initiative has garnered significant attention from the community. Players also note the technical difficulty of navigation – the higher the ship's speed, the harder it becomes to pass through the gates.

Interestingly, an official racing feature actually existed in version 1.4 of the game but was removed by the developers.

Fans are already calling on Hello Games to officially implement a racing mode with NPC opponents and rewards.

Track coordinates are available through the glyphs above. Besides the space track, the location features a route for ground rovers for racing during planetary storms.
