Escape From Tarkov boss reveals first trailer for mysterious space shooter Cor3

Nikita Buyanov, director of Escape From Tarkov, unveiled the first trailer for Cor3 – a mysterious sci-fi project that's been teased over recent months. The footage confirms theories about a first-person space shooter, though numerous questions about the game's nature remain unanswered.

Following a series of teasers in December, Battlestate Games COO posted a link to a website featuring an interactive virtual computer terminal set in the year 2251.

The new video became the next piece of the puzzle, appearing after a countdown concluded on the Cor3 account that Buyanov had previously reposted.

The teaser opens with a first-person view of someone holding a Kalash Corp rifle. The scene could easily be from Tarkov, albeit in a more futuristic setting. A broken sign nearby points toward Mariner City, one kilometer away. The camera pulls back from the figure and rises into the sky, passing a drone marked Phasma, gradually flying through the atmosphere into space.

We're then greeted by a small spacecraft and the floating bodies of several dead astronauts in spacesuits. The most prominent holds a handgun in one hand while flipping off the planet with the other. A patch on his suit reads Bogatyr.bs First Navy Squad. It's not much information, but it's the clearest connection yet to Tarkov, where the Bogatyr name is attached to a BEAR faction special squad.

The video's title PRJRPNT_BLUEMARS_FO is the only other clue. It connects to the description of Project Adonis from the teaser site, which discusses Mars as a priority colonization target in 2150. The site mentions squads sent to terraform the planet in an attempt to "provide a habitable ecosystem close to the old home."

Have we learned details about what Cor3 actually is, who's working on the project, when it might release, or whether cryptocurrency will be involved? No.

Initial hints at Cor3's worldbuilding appeared on the project's website, which also revealed mentions of cryptocurrency and NFTs in the Cor3 trademark registered by Buyanov in 2024. Since then, speculation about the project and its real connection to Battlestate hasn't subsided. The space setting, first-person weaponry, and references to the Tarkov universe suggest Cor3 might be a spin-off or spiritual successor to the cult tactical shooter, transplanted to a distant future with Mars colonization.
