Real-life building company uses The Sims 4 to showcase tiny homes
Worldwide Steel Buildings, a manufacturer of pre-engineered steel building kits, showcases real-life construction examples on its website. However, the tiny homes section caught the attention of the gaming community – The Sims 4 fans recognized in-game builds in the visualizations.
Redditor youandyourfijiwater shared a post featuring two tiny homes from the manufacturer's website that appear to be created in-game. The post reached the front page of The Sims 4 subreddit and sparked heated discussion. Some users pointed out that the example homes even include interior photos, which further supports the theory. Others noted that using The Sims 4 would be cheaper than purchasing CAD software.
Some commenters reacted positively to the discovery.
Being honest, I would love a company doing this rather than the stupid AI.
Skeptics suggested these could be poorly-written AI prompts or assets from platforms like Fiverr.
Worldwide Steel Buildings does not disclose using The Sims 4 for these projects and did not respond to requests for comment. However, plenty of evidence points to the game as the method for designing these tiny homes.
Beyond instant recognizability for fans, the home collection features exact in-game items – the Pumpkin Trio from Seasons, the Candle Making Table from Eco Lifestyle, and several interiors with items from the Laundry Day DLC. Some builds even show signs marking fishing locations from the game in the background.
If these homes were indeed created by a Sims builder, they clearly know their craft – incorporating items from a wide range of DLC and apparently even using the popular spiral staircase mod in some tiny homes.
Tiny homes have long been popular in The Sims 4 community. Players use them in rags-to-riches challenges as affordable housing or simply as an aesthetic choice.
