Cyberpunk 2077 trading card game raised over $6 million on Kickstarter in just a few hours
CDPR and WeirdCo announced the launch of The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Within hours of going live, the project surpassed $6 million – against an original goal of just $100,000, a result that clearly caught even the creators off guard.
The game spans both Cyberpunk 2077 and the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated series.
Gameplay revolves around assembling an edgerunner crew from characters across the franchise and going head-to-head with opponents in a fight to become a Night City legend. The game is designed for trading card enthusiasts, collectors, and fans of the Cyberpunk universe alike.
The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game will ship with multiple card sets. The debut set focuses on Cyberpunk 2077 characters, while the second set will bring in characters from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
Kickstarter backers will receive exclusive rewards. Throughout the campaign, WeirdCo plans to share development updates and gather feedback from the community.
