CD Projekt Red will show new The Witcher 4 footage in June

CD Projekt Red will appear at Unreal Fest in June with a new The Witcher 4 showcase – another look at one of the most anticipated games in recent memory.

The Witcher 4 was announced two years ago at The Game Awards with a CGI trailer featuring an older Ciri as the new series protagonist. Since then, the studio has shown very little – everything the public has seen came from tech demos not representative of the final game.

Don't expect a full gameplay reveal in June, though. CD Projekt Red announced its Unreal Fest appearance on the latest episode of its podcast but didn't clarify whether the footage would be in-game or another tech demo.

Given the nature of the event – Unreal Fest is focused on knowledge-sharing between developers and showcasing Unreal Engine's capabilities – the latter seems more likely. The studio has been working closely with Epic Games on optimizing large open-world games running on UE5, making a new engine showcase a natural fit for this kind of platform.

That said, this is all speculation. CD Projekt Red could very well show up with a full gameplay trailer – our first real look at the game in action.

There's no confirmed release date for The Witcher 4 yet. In 2025, the studio said 2027 is the earliest possible window, so marketing could start ramping up this year – though a slip to 2028 wouldn't be surprising given how these things tend to go.

Long-term, CD Projekt Red plans to release the entire new Witcher trilogy within six years of The Witcher 4's launch.
