New Mortal Kombat 2 trailer shows Johnny Cage, fire-breathing Scorpion, Shao Kahn and a whole lot of fighters

Warner Bros. dropped a new trailer for *Mortal Kombat 2* at IGN Fan Fest, giving a look at the large-scale clash between Earthrealm and Outworld fighters.

The story centers on a tournament where Earth's champions face off against Outworld's forces, led by the realm's ruler Shao Kahn. Simon McQuoid, who directed the first film, is back in the director's chair.

The screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater, known for the 2015 Fantastic Four and Coyote vs. Acme.

Joining returning cast members are Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Martin Ford as Shao Kahn, Desmond Chiam as Jerrod, and Ana Nguyen as Sindel.

Mortal Kombat 2 is set to hit international theaters on May 8.
