Orbifold is a co-op FPS set inside spherical arenas, now on Kickstarter

Auckland-based indie studio Wild Vector Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Orbifold – a co-op first-person shooter set inside hollow spheres. The campaign goal is NZ$50,000, with funding open until March 18.

The game's defining hook is that all action takes place inside hollow spheres – remnants of a shattered world. Inverted gravity isn't just window dressing here; combat plays out across the entire inner surface of each sphere, and enemies can be sent flying across the map. Players fight through autonomous Husks, chase down a distant distress signal, and piece together the mystery of the Inversion Event – the catastrophe that reduced a planet to a collection of spherical arenas.

Orbifold blends co-op shooter mechanics with roguelite elements. Procedurally generated loot, stackable upgrades, and a build-crafting system make each run feel different from the last.

The game supports both solo play with dynamic difficulty scaling and online or LAN co-op. Several character classes are available – Explorers, soldiers, and double agents – each with unique abilities and customizable weapons.

Levels are handcrafted with an emphasis on exploration and creative combat approaches.

The developers promise deep lore inspired by classic science fiction. The Orbifold page is already live on Steam.
