Embark Studios is finally adding beards to ARC Raiders

Embark Studios has revealed more details about the upcoming Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders, which is set to drop next week. Alongside a teaser trailer showcasing the new 'Hurricane' map condition, the studio released an image that has the community buzzing.

After months of player requests, Embark Studios appears to be finally adding beards to the customization system. The post-apocalyptic Speranza residents, who have so far sported nothing but smooth faces and the occasional scar, may soon be able to grow some face fur once Shrouded Sky arrives – and it looks like that moment is nearly here.

The key evidence comes straight from the update's teaser trailer, which clearly shows a raider sporting a full beard. That's a big deal, since every in-game character shown previously has exclusively displayed hairstyles, tattoos, and face decorations available to buy or unlock in the game. This marks the first time a bearded raider has appeared.

The Shrouded Sky update launches on February 24th and introduces the 'Hurricane' map condition, which will pummel players with fierce winds, flying debris, and heavy rain. There's also a new enemy on the way, though Embark Studios is keeping that one tightly under wraps for now.

As for the finer details of the facial hair system – whether moustaches and goatees will be included – that remains anyone's guess for now.
