Absolum receives major patch 1.1 with new trials, revamped rift system and dozens of improvements
Dotemu released a major update "Threads of Fate" for the fantasy roguelite beat 'em up Absolum. Update 1.1 brings new mechanics, content and numerous improvements to the game.
The main addition is the mysterious trials system, which unlocks after the first full playthrough. Players can work with Magis to add modifiers to their runs. Among the ready-made options are "Champions", "Legion" trials and multiplayer challenges. Players can also create their own mystical trials and share them via special codes.
The update overhauled the rift system by adding corrupted regions. These dangerous zones become available after defeating Azra and appear on the map from the start of each run. Players decide for themselves – bypass them or challenge the enhanced enemies for valuable rewards.
Each of the four heroes received new skins and emotes, mounts gained improved abilities and more powerful attacks against enemies, and the Soul Tree now displays the full set of character stats.
Developers worked on balance adjustments. Mana restoration from sources has been reduced, the probability of chests appearing when chaos ritual triggers has been decreased, and dagger base damage has been adjusted. Changes affected regular enemies, bosses, regions and playable heroes.
The interface received several improvements. Options to enable or disable damage numbers in settings were added, visual effects for some of Galandra's arcanas were implemented, and missing NPC portraits were added. Various bugs were also fixed.
Starting February 16, Absolum will also be available with a 25% discount on Steam.
