CI Games showcases brutal Lords of the Fallen II gameplay with dismemberment and executions
CI Games released a new episode of their development diary series Lifting the Veil, focused on the combat system in Lords of the Fallen II. The latest episode features previously unseen footage from the alpha build, showcasing combat mechanics, enemies, weapons, and spells.
CI Games highlighted several key changes to combat compared to the first game:
Increased movement speed and maneuverability – Lampbearers can now charge into the thick of battle, controlling larger areas and making split-second decisions
Expanded arsenal – players can seamlessly switch between melee combat, ranged attacks, and magic, creating diverse tactical combinations
Reworked heavy attacks – no longer just increased damage, but a critical choice between victory and punishment for overcommitting
Executions – a new mechanic that adds depth to the series' signature aggressive style, turning battlefields into bloodbaths
Lords of the Fallen II takes place 1,000 years after the fall of the dark god Adyr. A lone kingdom stands against the forces of the dead realm Umbral and its eldritch master. As the Lampbearer, players can literally tear enemies apart with a new dismemberment system and finish them with executions in a fast and fluid combat system.
The developers promise increased enemy variety and massive boss battles that will test both solo players and those who prefer co-op with shared progression.
The game is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
