No Man's Sky Remnant update adds gravity gun and waste processing plants
Hello Games released the first No Man's Sky update of the year called Remnant. The headline feature is a gravity gun – a tool the studio wanted to add since the very beginning.
The new Gravitino Coil module transforms the multi-tool into an anti-gravity device, allowing players to grab large objects and move them around the world. Players can fling, toss, or carefully carry items across alien terrain.
Salvage and debris scattered across planets can now be collected and recycled for rare resources. New trucks, flatbeds, and haulers can be constructed to transport materials to industrial yards for reclamation. Players can work solo or team up with friends in salvage crews.
The update creates a new gameplay loop: searching for wrecks, loading up vehicles with cargo, and hauling it across alien landscapes to industrial facilities for rewards. Sorting and depositing materials at the all-new Waste Processing Plants yields valuable loot.
Some scrap is highly volatile and requires careful transportation – the developers note it's hard to resist overloading trucks and attempting to deliver precariously stacked cargo to its destination.
The gravity gun functions as both an industrial tool and a ballistic weapon, grabbing sentinels or turning heavy objects into projectiles.
The update also launches a limited-time community expedition that brings travelers together in convoys to clean up a planet covered in wrecks and salvage. Participants can become haulers, ground crew wielding gravity guns, or yard operators. Rewards include dozens of new vehicle parts and an armor set featuring plush fabrics and ornate steampunk detailing.
