Stylish co-op puzzle game Orbitals launches exclusively on Switch 2 this summer
Shapefarm studio and publisher Kepler Interactive unveiled a new trailer for Orbitals – a co-op puzzle game inspired by classic anime. The game will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 this summer, though no exact release date has been announced yet.
The trailer shown during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase highlighted the game's vibrant visual style and new gameplay details. Players will be able to play drums and piano together, as well as tackle mini-games at arcade machines.
Orbitals draws inspiration from iconic 90s anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop. The story follows two main characters – Maki and Omura – who must save a collapsing space station from a devastating supernatural cosmic storm.
The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and fully optimized for Switch 2 capabilities. Local split-screen co-op will allow two players to use two pairs of Joy-Con 2 controllers on a single console. The GameShare feature will enable sharing Orbitals with another player on a separate Switch 2 or original Switch, as well as online co-op play.
