Modders already found a way to transfer builds from Minecraft to Hytale
After being saved from closure by Riot Games several months ago, Hytale finally became available to players this week. Whether you're new to building games, a Minecraft veteran, or someone who followed the turbulent seven-year development journey – the doors are open for everyone. As the Hypixel Studios team intended, impressive mods for Hytale appeared instantly, but nobody expected a way to transfer builds from Minecraft would emerge this quickly. Less than 24 hours after launch, several tools already exist that convert Minecraft files into Hytale prefabs.
The process doesn't yet take 60 seconds with simple copy-paste, but considering how quickly mods are being created, everything is easier than it seems. Players will need to go through several steps, but the result is worth it.
The first option is the Hytale Converter tool, created by a team of enthusiasts including user Celestale. This website allows you to upload a schematic or litematic file from Minecraft and converts it into a format readable in Hytale. Then you simply need to place the file in the Prefab folder on your PC. In the game's editor, just find the prefab in the menu, select it – and any house, structure, or location from Minecraft will be recreated in Hytale right before your eyes.
Due to differences in block types between the games, the result won't be identical one-to-one, but judging by examples, the similarity will be very close. Some geometric bugs may occur, however the overall layout of the Minecraft build will be preserved almost entirely.
The second tool is the SchematicImporter mod by ThirtyVirus. This version works similarly to Hytale Converter but requires slightly more manual actions. In return, users get additional options before placing the prefab in the world. A "test paste" function displays a placeholder made of red blocks, showing the exact location of the future build. The menu allows you to individually select which Hytale blocks will replace each type of Minecraft block – you can find the closest match or experiment with alternative textures.
Over time, faster and more refined methods for importing builds from Minecraft into Hytale will appear. But right now, perfectly functional solutions are already available for those who want to see their favorite creations from Mojang's game in the new blocky world.
