Death Stranding 2 PC build leaks on Steam two days before release – without Russian voiceovers

Death Stranding 2 is already available to preload on Steam, but someone got considerably more than a bundle of encrypted files. A pre-release build of Kojima Productions' game has leaked and is now circulating on piracy sites – two days before the official launch.

According to a piracy-focused subreddit, the leak originated from Steam itself, where unencrypted game files were apparently made available by mistake. It's unclear how long the files were accessible, but long enough for someone to download all 113GB. Steam does have its own DRM, but it's far easier to bypass than Denuvo – and Death Stranding 2 doesn't use Denuvo.

Pirates can already download and run the game on PC before its official release. Most discussion in piracy circles has focused on the available languages – the leaked build is missing Russian voiceovers. Steam supports separate language packages, so players typically download only the audio files they need.

Anyone who pirates Death Stranding 2 will miss out on the game's online component, which lets players share infrastructure like roads and bridges with each other.

The official release isn't far off – Death Stranding 2 launches on March 19.
