Sekiro: No Defeat anime is coming in 2026, new trailer revealed
Kadokawa Corporation, Crunchyroll, Qzil.la, and ARCH have announced that the Sekiro: No Defeat anime, based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is set to premiere in 2026. A new trailer has also dropped:
The anime will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide, with the exception of Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus. Japanese audiences will get a different treatment – a nationwide theatrical release.
Along with the previously confirmed cast, several more voice actors have been announced as reprising their roles from the game. Daisuke Namikawa, Miyuki Satou, and Kenjiro Tsuda return as Wolf, Kuro the Divine Heir, and Genichiro Ashina respectively, joined by Jin Urayama (Sculptor), Shizuka Itoh (Emma), Akimitsu Takase (Hanbei), Takaya Hashi (Owl), and Tetsuo Kanao (Isshin Ashina). Nearly the entire original game cast is back.
The trailer also unveiled the anime's theme song: "Blu" by Ryuichi Sakamoto, taken from his 2015 album "The Best of 'Playing the Orchestra 2014.'" Sakamoto, who passed away in 2023, left behind an enormous musical legacy, and the choice of his work signals real artistic ambition from the production.
