Trump supporters have fallen for an AI character "Jessica Foster" with nearly a million Instagram followers
An Instagram account called "Jessica Foster" (@jessicaa.foster) – supposedly a U.S. Army soldier and passionate Trump supporter – has quietly amassed nearly 900,000 followers in just a few months, with the number still climbing toward a million. There's one problem: Jessica Foster doesn't exist. She's an entirely AI-generated character.
The account launched in November 2025 and quickly built a large audience through military-themed posts, pro-Trump content, and commentary on White House politics.
The AI-generated images show "Foster" posing in military uniform, appearing alongside the president in the Oval Office, and delivering what look like political speeches. Some of the content leans into fetish territory, creating a distinctly cyberpunk mix of military-patriotic aesthetics and adult-oriented material.
Older users appear to be among the most engaged, many of them genuinely believing the account belongs to a real person.
The comment sections are full of thank-yous for "her service," compliments, and expressions of support – and a significant portion of the followers seem completely unaware they're interacting with a fictional character.
An investigation confirmed that Jessica Foster is not real and that all visual content was generated using AI. Still, the account's reach – hundreds of thousands of followers and counting – has reignited debate about the influence of AI-generated content on social media platforms.
The "Foster" case fits into a broader pattern of using AI-generated profiles of attractive women to push political content.
CNN and the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) previously identified dozens of fake accounts on X using photos of young women – some stolen from real European influencers, others AI-generated – to promote pro-Trump content under hashtags like #MAGAPatriots.
But "Jessica Foster" stands out even in that context, both for the scale of its audience and the level of character development. An account with just 44 posts and nearly a million followers shows how easily AI can produce convincing fake identities – and how readily platform algorithms amplify them to a mass audience.
Instagram has yet to label the account as AI-generated content or restrict its visibility, raising serious questions about the platform's moderation policies.
