xQc thinks Rockstar should charge $800 for GTA 6 since it'll be 20x better than anything else
The price of GTA 6 gets debated almost as often as its ever-shifting release date. Some expect Rockstar's next game to cost $100, but streamer xQc thinks even that would be a steal – in his view, the real value of GTA 6 is closer to $800.
Worth keeping in mind: xQc is a multi-millionaire pulling in tens of millions of dollars a year.
During a recent stream, xQc laid out his reasoning.
"If you were to give a product, by the standardization of the market currently, all games considered, what you get for what you pay for, GTA should cost $800."
He's not actually expecting that price, but his argument is grounded in specific expectations. The story campaign alone, he reckons, could run up to 100 hours. Stack on top of that whatever Rockstar has planned for the online component, and you're potentially looking at 1,000+ hours of content. And if the series' track record means anything – every mainline entry since GTA 3 has scored 95 or higher on Metacritic – it'll likely be one of the best games ever made.
"That's not even an opinion! I actually wish that was a take, it's a fact,"
xQc said, before pointing to other recent releases to drive the point home. Without naming any titles specifically, he argued:
"These days, you pay $60 or $80, you get f**king nothing."
And in his estimation, GTA 6 will be at least 20 times better than anything that's come out recently.
Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has said a word about what GTA 6 will actually cost, and no price point has been officially ruled out. Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has said the goal is to deliver more value than players pay for – a nice line, though it tells us nothing about what number will appear on the price tag.
