Teardown is getting 12-player multiplayer in March

Tuxedo Labs has announced a release date for the biggest free update to Teardown since launch. The multiplayer update arrives on March 12 and has been one of the most requested features in the game's history.

The update brings online co-op and competitive play for up to 12 players at a time in the fully destructible world of Teardown. Players can tackle the original campaign in co-op, go head-to-head across hundreds of dev- and community-made modes, or just tear things apart together in Sandbox Mode. Classic options like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag are all included.

The update also adds two brand-new dual-sided arenas and opens up an expanded library of community maps. On the modding side, Tuxedo Labs is introducing multiplayer functionality to the Teardown API, giving creators the tools to build new cooperative and competitive modes, maps, and more.

During pre-launch playtests, the community already shipped hundreds of multiplayer-specific mods, including modes like The Floor Is Lava, Battle Royale, and Prop Hunt.

This is just the start of online support for Teardown. Tuxedo Labs plans to bring the multiplayer update to PS5 and Xbox Series later this year and has also announced a dedicated racing mode. On top of that, the studio is working on the fourth major DLC, also expected to arrive in 2026.
