Gaijin Entertainment announces Star Wrath, a space extraction shooter now in closed beta
Gaijin Entertainment has announced Star Wrath – a multiplayer extraction shooter set in open space, where players pilot spacecraft, hunt for resources, and try to escape with their loot on the fringes of a shattered Solar System.
The game is already available to wishlist on Steam, and applications for the closed beta, which kicked off today, are being accepted on the official website.
The game revolves around collecting and upgrading a unique ship: players head out on raids, engage in PvE and PvP encounters, and try to make it back with their haul. Nebulae can be used to set up ambushes or as cover to shake off pursuers. A physical damage model allows every module on a ship to be destroyed individually, with immediate effects on its stats and combat capabilities.
Beyond the ship itself, each pilot has a unique set of skills. These can be unlocked and upgraded through DNA editing, with samples of useful combinations harvested from the bodies of fallen enemies. The mechanic adds an extra layer of risk: in combat, you can lose not just your ship and gear, but literally a part of your pilot.
Beta access is open to everyone – simply sign in with a Gaijin.Net account and fill out a short form. Invitations will be sent out in waves, though a guaranteed spot can be secured by purchasing the Founder's Pack.
