Mewgenics developers already planning DLC, but release is at least a year away

Mewgenics, the cat-breeding roguelike from Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel, is a massive game. According to McMillen himself, most players will need over 200 hours to "beat the game," and more than 500 hours to see and do everything.

That's an enormous amount of playtime, enough to keep most fans busy for weeks, probably months. Despite this, McMillen and Glaiel are already thinking about new content:

I assume we will start on DLC in a few months after seeing what people like and want to see more of. We have a rough idea of something small, like a few more classes and more areas etc., but don't wanna start on it till we fully understand what people really like about the game.

I assume it will take a year from when we start to release a DLC... maybe?

Players have plenty of time to thoroughly explore the base game and all available content. Knowing Edmund, his "year" could easily turn into two, three, or even five. But there will genuinely be a lot of new content when it arrives.

Mewgenics is available on Steam.
